The eight-year gap is the whole point.
I photographed weddings professionally for several years. Then I stopped — not because I fell out of love with it, but because documentary filmmaking pulled me in. For the next eight years I made films and designed products.
Documentary work rewires how you see. You stop hunting for pretty frames and start reading rooms: who's about to laugh, which door the story walks through next, when to move and when to be absolutely still. You learn that the camera people forget about is the one that gets the truth.
Weddings are the best documentary subject there is — a complete story with a beginning, middle and dancefloor, told in a single day, surrounded by everyone the story matters to. After eight years of films that took months, I wanted that again.
So no — I haven't spent the last decade shooting two hundred identical weddings. That's exactly why mine won't look like them.
I'm based in Canterbury and photograph weddings across Kent, Sussex, London and anywhere a good story is getting married. Pricing is here, all of it public. If this sounds like your kind of day, I'd love to hear from you.
